A majority of people who played this game at some point don't play anymore. It was a huge deal when it first came out and was a lot of fun. But obviously the wave subsided.

Still, contrary to popular belief, there are still tons of people who play. There are a few sites who claim PoGo still logs "a few million users per day" (just google "how many people still play pokemon go" for a few sites). So if you find an asshole who likes to insult people by saying "wow nobody plays that lame game anymore, why are you still playing?" then abandon that person because they're just bitter.

The most happening social gathering group in my small town relates to Pokémon Go. There's a group chat and people plan to meet for raids several times a day. Yesterday there were 12 people that met to take down a Snorlax. I have gone most days of the week. Initially people were hanging out in their cars but now everyone gathers in a circle and chats for a bit until the group is assembled. We raid and compare and then go off to do other things. I'm grateful for making it a more social game again.
