I honestly think that marriage is one of the biggest scams that the government runs. I mean if we are truly having separation of church and state, then the government should have nothing to do with marriage. Marriage licenses should be illegal and everyone who issues them should be sent to prison. Marriage predates civilization so no it's not a government scam.
