Look at the video, the time between "officer I have this gun" and gunshots is about 5 seconds. Imagine being nervous already because you're pulled over and remembering you have a gun. That's a mistake anyone can make. Not to mention he says "I'm not going to" and both him and his girlfriend say he wasn't reaching for it.
