Gay marriage should be legal vs. Gay marriage shouldn't be legal does not have a centrist view. Military spending is out of control vs. Military spending is justified does not have a centrist view. We need to keep drugs illegal vs. The Drug War is stupid does not have a centrist view. You know what centrist views get you? Obamacare. A poorly designed bill that attempts to pacify both parties while only making one marginally happy and the other foaming at the mouth angry. Either you believe health care is a right, and you believe in a single payer system. Or you believe health care is a privilege and only those that can afford it or have people who will pay for it should get it.
