Reverse physiology is a great thing. In most arguments folk tend to keep raising their voices to outdo each other. If however you talk to them calmly then chances are they too will respond back calmly. It's not easy though but it works. Of course the other option is to say nothing to them no matter how many times they stamp their feet. This is easy enough as drama is way too much effort and clearly your dad loves it.
