I've never seen it checked My theaters sometimes had an usher waiting when you'd come out which I assume was only there to make sure you weren't walking into another film. You'd also occasionally see ushers walk into theaters with flashlights. I could see that happening with like 1-2-3 screen theaters...but the typical theater I go to is the normal AMC multiplex where the hallways are legit devoid of any employees once you pass the ticket counter. The one I used to go to is an AMC. The bigger multiplexes, are usually the easier ones to sneak between theaters.
