It's pretty well established that houses with solar panels tend to sell for less than ones without And why is this? Solar panels seem like a selling point to me. Not a reason to reduce the price. Unless they're old and will need replacing soon. A home that already has good solar panels means the new owner starts seeing savings right away. If the current owner was dumb enough to fall for one of those leasing plans then I could see it being a negative. EDIT:After a little googling, that seems to be the issue. Homes with a leased solar system are the problem. Not homes where the systems is owned outright.
