I think you were a little hasty in making a decision here TC.
I know that the condescending gloating in some of those replies put you off but if you looked past that, you were getting some decent advice and probably could have got a better option. Acer's far from the best brand out there.

It'll get the job done for the old games I'm interested in. This is nothing but a stopgap until I build the PC.
You could've built a PC significantly more powerful than that laptop for the same $500~ you spent on it. And then you could've just upgraded it to a high end PC when you had the money.
It would've been a much better "stopgap". You made a really dumb purchase.
The bigger point is that he was originally going to spend $850. He could build a great PC for that... So idk why this would be a "stopgap" in the first place.
Everything about this topic is just dumb and I really hope TC is trolling.
