I would argue it isn't the only question that matters. The severity of the situation doesn't classify one person as an alcoholic and not the other. Sure, there are cases where alcohol completely consumes people's lives and they become non functional members of society and quite possibly end up on the streets, further exacerbating their situation in terms of poor diet, limited access to healthcare, etc. There are also cases of people earning a good living, even better than most, who are able to hold down jobs (good jobs, even) yet drink excessively (everyday, almost everyday, or binging hardcore every weekend for years)---they end up dead too. --- "I think that man will be president right about the time when spaceships come down filled with dinosaurs in red capes" - Tom Hanks ...
