Topic	Im about to spend 850 on a goddamn laptop.

I know that the condescending gloating in some of those replies put you off but if you looked past that, you were getting some decent advice and probably could have got a better option. Acer's far from the best brand out there. But whatever makes you happy. It'll get the job done for the old games I'm interested in. This is nothing but a stopgap until I build the PC. You could've built a PC significantly more powerful than that laptop for the same $500~ you spent on it. And then you could've just upgraded it to a high end PC when you had the money.
