Topic | A song of Ice and Fire is pretty overwhelming to read. *Moderate spoilers?* |
pikachupwnage 05/05/17 12:12:45 AM #1: | The hundreds of pages per book and the obscene amounts of characters, agendas and history to track is.. daunting. If you get distracted from them by life for a bit it very easy to be like "I don't even know what the fuck is happening anymore" Seriously the amount of viewpoint characters is crazy and there are a lot of named plot important characters outside of them. Plus various other major-minor characters. Arya Jon Ned Catelyn Robb Brandon Sansa Rickon John Tyrion Cersi Jaime Tywin Littlefinger Varys Sam Joffrey Robert Margarey Melisandre Sandor Theon Jeor Walder Gregor Ramsay Jorah Daenarys Etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. And that's pretty much just the viewpoint characters and biggest plot pushers. And I probably left shitload of those out. Is there any other series that has as many notable characters in one single continuity? Seriously pretty sure there are well in excess of 2000 named characters, with at least a couple dozen that could be considered main characters, and a couple hundred+ who could be considered major or notable recurring characters. --- ...
