What ARE some of those must have legal benefits? I ask because I'm getting to that age where eventually I'm going to have to decide if I want to get married or not.
The way I see it is that the downsides of of marriage and especially divorce can really fuck you over bad. We've all heard the brutal divorce stories that tend to be common place.
I don't see how keeping everything you own as YOURS is a bad thing in any way shape or form. If you split there's no paper work, and you keep 100% of all your possessions.
Your concerns seem to be things that can be solved with a prenuptial agreement. ---
