I just know that you're lying. Its standard to be shot by one in police academies. Hell, even security officers who want to be certified to use one need to be shot by one. I mean I haven't been to every police academy or looked into them all but the ones around here are all voluntary and most cops haven't been tased. Policy and procedure probably varies by state or county.
