| Topic | It's kind of sad how comedians struggle to stay relevant after becoming famous |
| pinky0926 04/11/17 7:54:06 AM #1: | Thinking of Louis C.K. and Dave Chappelle here. Now don't get me wrong, they're both still funny. I laughed at their specials. Dave still has that masterstroke of punchline setup and Louis still has that ability to make everyday normal things sounds utterly ridiculous. But overall both were noticeably weaker sets. Louis' material was mostly irrelevant rambling and Dave is sounding like an old guy struggling to understand the topical issues of the day. I guess part of the typical comedian's toolset is playing the part of a broke sadsack and going through life losing all the time. I suppose being an A list celebrity with millions in the bank makes you a lot less relatable.
