The Michelin-starred celebrity chef, 50, says he likes to “eat properly” and chat to his wife Tana, 42, and their four kids during dinner time.

When asked if his family watch TV while they dine, Gordon said: “No, that’s pretty gross. Also the sofa is off-white, which is bad enough with the dog on there, so no food.

“I like to eat properly, hold conversations, divide and conquer, find out who’s doing what, who’s fallen behind at parents’ evening, and then retire to the sofa, with a drink.”

The Scot, who added a “glass of Rioja” was his preferred couch tipple, was also asked if he ever eats in bed, telling the Radio Times: “Oh no, no, no, no, no, no. No.”

It comes as Gordon said he won’t be leaving his massive fortune to his children as he fears it will “ruin them”.

It means that Megan, 18, Matilda, 15 and Jack and Holly, both 17, will receive little of his net worth, believed to be around £113 million ($A187 million).

“It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them,” he said.
