You'd feel that way about any decade because when you're young everything is new, it has this spark too it that fades when you realize just how repetitive and mundane life is. No, he's right. The 2000s were fun, in a silly way. But now that social media is so prevalent and you can use the Internet wherever you go, most people don't care about anything besides checking their messages and trying to become famous online. It's so boring. As much as I like the Internet and social media, there was fun in discovering unlockable in games without being spoiled, the times before prevalence of smart phones and when there was nothing good on TV you watched some cartoon/show that you'd complain about with your friends. I know it's nostalgia but it was like the baby stage before everything became completely saturated with internet and social media entertainment.
