Not playing defense so you can grab the rebound. begging for the ball and taking horrible shots. having your team chuck horrible shots to give you assists, chucking shots in general. Your teamates not grabbing rebounds or playing intentionally so that the person padding can increase his stats. It's such garbage and they only do it because NBA fans are fucking morons and care so much about worthless records being broken. Basically, stat padding is when you stop playing to win and start doing things that aren't strategic, like refusing rest, giving the other team the advantage for stats, not making the most efficient move for your stats and so on ...
