Sure, the teacher shouldn't have reacted that way, but he made it clear that it was just demonstrating how the move should look. The teacher wouldn't go full force for a demonstration and possibly hurt the student. And even if teacher were to go full power, the student knew exactly what was coming which meant he knew how to brace himself for it.
