I take straight cold showers and have for years now. When I first started I began to notice an improvement in my skin/hair right away. The other thing I notice (huge plus in the winter months) is that when I step out, my body is surrounded by this incredible aura of heat. I can't remember the last time I felt cold. Can't speak as much for the other benefits that people claim it gives. Maybe I have them but just don't notice anymore since I've been doing this for so long.

It's pretty intense at first. If you just go straight into it you'll definitely give your body quite the shock. Heart rate up, probably start gasping for air. After a while you will look forward to taking a nice cold shower, I definitely do. It's soothing if you're experiencing any aches and pains. Also, I started shaving before showering when I switched to cold and it's very refreshing. No need for any aftershave or anything of the like.
