I would have liked it better without the store/bolts and I didn't quite like all the levels as much as MM1-6, but it was pretty much the best they could have done for Mega Man at that time.

Mega Man vs. Street Fighter was decent too, but I've never really had the urge to replay it. I still wish they'd officially remake MM7&8 in 8-bit, or at least translate and add some story scenes to the fan remakes.

In retrospect, I kind of blame MM9 for the whole 8-bit indie game fad that's been going on the last few years. Wasn't really a thing until MM9 revived it.
