seeing that most of the missiles apparently missed, i dont think russia really cares. hell i'd be surprised if they did since no country wants to be called out for supporting blatantly obvious war crimes.

There is zero benefit. He's currently in power and in peace talks. In fact, the day the supposed chemical attack took place, was the day before peace talks were to resume in Brussels. Why would a person who is already in power, has a stronger position than he's ever had in peace negotiations, and knows that the world has drawn a line in the sand with chemical attacks, use a chemical weapon to kill his own people? Why?

peace talk conclusions would end in a deal that he thinks would make him look weak.
