I got braces and they helped some.

Do you rest your wrists on your laptop like me?

Might get a brace. And I do rest my wrist on my laptop, but what's weird is that laptop use for me is mostly fine - the issue is when I sit at my desk at home and use my desktop. I tried testing it by playing a computer game this morning and I was only able to play like fifteen minutes of Diablo 3 before I had to turn off the game because it was so uncomfortable. I'm at work now and the discomfort is slightly less but still pretty bad - my pinky tingles each time i hit a key with it

Had it after training once, didn't go away for a good 3, 4 days. Try holding your hand out like it's holding a plate, fingers splayed. Lift your arm like you're lifting the plate above your head, then turn your hand clockwise and rotate it as you move the hand up and around, holding the "plate" the entire time, palm toward the ceiling like a waiter rotating a tray. You might feel a reduction in tension in your elbow or hand, just make sure it's comfortable and you're not overstretching.

thanks, gonna try this today

I looked up some exercises online and after a few weeks of doing them every day the problem eventually disappeared.

my fear now is that i'll need surgery or PT or something for this, which would be a huge drag and not really possible at the moment, since I am super busy till like October
