Assuming Assad's regime dropped these weapons (there's not been an independent inquiry and I wouldn't put it past western officials to lie about it for their own means anyway) then I agree, morally at least, something needs to be done. The problem is that going to war for a valid reason doesn't mean anything if you have no plan with how you are going to do things. I thought invading Afghanistan was the right thing but, due to having no plan for after the initial victory, the place is still in chaos.

Whether this leads to an actual invasion is another matter of course. A few bombing raids though are merely an inconvenience to Assad though so I don't really see how effective they'll be on their own.

Here's the thing though, if the grand plan is to overthrow Assad then what will they do afterwards? The rebels are hopeless and contain multiple terrorist groups who are not better than ISIS so they are not fit to govern. Enforcing democracy on Middle Eastern countries has an awful track record. I just don't see how this will work. I may agree with sentiment but that's not enough to stabilise Syria.
