You need poor social skills or weird baggage to be totally unable to make close friendships with the opposite sex. That said, I've at least though about what it would be like to have sex with most of my female friends even if I had no intent to act on it. There has to be some sort of odd confluence of personal incompatibility for there to be absolutely no sexual attraction at all between two people that value each other's company solely from the merit of their character.
