I get where they're coming from, no one wants to be the dateless loser, but coddling them by assigning them dates isn't going to help. They need to get experience being rejected so that when they're older they can shake it off, move on and try again. Life isn't going to just hand you opportunity very often. They've been doing this for like 90 years. Also nobody is forcing you to be with your date the whole time. You get assigned, and show up.
