It is a little hard to see its impact since the fighting game genre is basically an endangered species nowadays, but Street Fighter 2 was the first truly great fighting game, it was hugely influential not just in the fighting game genre but competitive multiplayer generally and it is shocking that it is not in the Hall of Fame already. I'm surprised DK is winning the poll because other than the historical aspect that it was the first success of Miyamoto and Nintendo, it wasn't that great of a game. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
