What? Sure, the multiple paths and unlockables definitely give the player incentive to go back into a level and try to see everything, but that incentive doesn't make bad levels more fun. Getting to the top route in City Escape doesn't make up for the fact that I am listening to Crush 40 while playing City Escape.
Good news! You can change the music on any level!
And it's not just incentives or unlockables. Being able to speed run through levels and seeing your mistakes lessen and your total time decrease as you play is greatly satisfying.
