It still won't approach the LotR scale battle of the book. But I'm sure it will be great. I just hope the fans will accept that they can't do anything that big on TV.
Honestly I think it works better for the show if it DOESN'T approach that. While the scale of the battles are LotR size, they pretty much always tend to focus on a single characters perspective of the battle anyway.
It depends largely on how they do it, but I'm pretty confident they can make it work. The first season was great, after all. I kind of even liked it better than the book, in some ways.
