came into this topic again to see how it went and time out a sec.

But other products (iPad, iPhone) are priced competitively,

and here is where a resounding
"No."
is heard.

the iphone is very overpriced. it's "competitive" in the sense that there phones priced at similar levels. it's not in the sense of phones better than it can be gotten for less regularly. the 4s is 'competitively priced' against products that beat it in every single category. ditto for the 3s (which is a joke these days - i can get a $70-100 phone that's better in comparison) and the 4. it's the same trend that goes with 'em all. they initially start somewhere around the same level, but android constantly upgrades hardware and what used to be competitive drops quickly in price. apple's prices don't drop however.

the ipad 2 meanwhile is an incredibly overpriced piece of hardware. cheaper tablets that do everything it does with many more features can be gotten for less. hell, you don't even need to lurk further than the Transformer Prime, which is the current king of tablets by miles. priced how much? $100 less. the samsung galaxy tab could also be gotten for less, and is also better.

or we can simply point to what asus recently announced:

the will be releasing a 7" tablet with a Tegra 3 processor in it and 1GB of RAM for $250. the tablet market in general is an overpriced field, and asus is out to prove it. things used to be near the cost (when the original Transformer launched it was barely breaking even - though note that even it had more functions than either ipad), but that isn't the case anymore.
