At least, I've looked for certain apps "available for iPhone" and I see that they are not offered on Android, and it is rarely the other way around (excluding apps that do stuff specific to iOS/Android, like maintenance apps).

Yes it is. "Mac vs. PC" is just an ad campaign. PC stands for personal computer, whether it has Windows or iOS or Linux, or all three.
