man, wwe is not thin at the top. they just half half a dozen guys from that level out on injury right now, which sucks for them. missing rey, christian, soon henry, del rio = painful. add in the firing of morrison and occasional wellness moments (sup truth) and you've got a really bad picture. hell, we only recently got kane back. they do protect their main guys too much, but this is one field where the brand split is ABSOLUTELY necessary - if you can't get over 1 show you can move to the next. if it weren't for the split dragon would still be part of APPLE. a change to smackdown did him well, even with the sin cara mess he was involved in, and he holds a major belt. ziggler needed a change of pace after edge buried him, he was a victim of bad timing there. if he goes over to SD now though? he'd instantly be in the ME scene. and nobody would complain or bat an eye. the brand split's greatest asset is the ability to jump ship. that can both hurt and help someone (drew friggin' died), but overall it's a net positive.
the two midcard belts are also a good thing considering how full that is, but really the issue here is wwe needs a low card belt. the cruiserweight title needs to come back, something that the guys from Superstars can strive for and work as a mark of 'hey this is a credible midcard', with defenses on smackdown or raw to show that these guys exist, matter, and are great.
still, the worst thing to do would be to end the brand split and then all those guys come back. now you've got an extremely crowded ME scene. unless this is brand split but keep your belts. that one works fairly well, an unofficial brand split.
