No, no it didn't. He was the face of the school because of football yes, but it didn't matter whether he was doing good or not. Holding people to a high ethical and academic standard has nothing to do with how good they did. Having players see him as a father figure and being well known for developing his players into good and responsible people has nothing to do with how good they were at football.
