Not sure about wearing Shepard's armor though. Legion's deliberately vague about why he used it to patch the damage to his "mobile platform."
Well it has been a while since I've played ME2, so I've forgotten a lot of the specifics of the conversations, but I remember the thing with the armor sticking out. To me it seemed like either Legion or the geth hivemind was developing some individuality, and the "vagueness" would be because he/they wasn't/weren't quite sure what was going on.
