It's not necessarily a "moral" advantage if you believe the geth are just soulless machines, regardless of their sentience. They could be more valuable in the future, but they're also infinitely more dangerous than the quarians as well.
Not to get into a heavier debate, but what exactly distinguishes "sentience" (or perhaps more closely, sapience) from "a soul?"
Plus, it's heavily implied that the Geth are still developing their AI. Legion himself shows signs of developing a unique personality among the hivemind (evidenced by that he wears a replica of Shepard's N7 armor despite having no logical reason to do so).
