That's an incredibly negligible amount of people.
Absolutely nobody would actually COMPLAIN if Brawl wasn't floaty. Nobody complained about Melee's physics. They complained about glitches, sure, but that has nothing to do with floaty physics.

Where are your stats on such a figure?
As for the complaining argument, imagine for a second that Brawl came first, and its physics were considered the norm. Then Melee came out.
You have people complaining about Melee's physics then!
Hell, Smash Bros. 64 was even floatier, and that doesn't get a ton of hate.
