Right now I don't care much for Smash Bros. Series has only gotten worse and worse for one thing, and for another thing, it's just so derivative in comparison to most everything else Nintendo has going.
And Brawl has 2005-level graphics, ouch.

Okay, the Smash Bros. Series, in gameplay terms, is not derivative in the slightest. It invented a sub-genre and to this day, the only thing it really plays like is well, clones of it. It takes lots from previous Nintendo games for its roster and whatnot but... It's a crossover game. That's what they do.
And 2005 level graphics? It's a Wii game for starters, so expecting something comparable to the 360 and PS3's games in graphics is unrealistic but still... It's one of the best looking games on the Wii besides, and if you put it in HD (as some have done) it looks like it could be on either of those.

dude, I'm not trying to start a war here
if you like Brawl better, I don't care. If you don't care about high-level play and just want Smash Bros 3, good for you.
However I will say that IF Nintendo didn't dumb down the game, everybody would be happy. Hardcore Smashers would still love the game, and Casual Smashers would feel the exact same way about the game as they already do for Brawl, because they don't care about those changes, it would still be Smash Bros 3 to them and that's all they need.
