All of Layton's plot twists were terrible. Doesn't stop the games from being awesome and fun though!
Eh...I didn't think the first two were that terrible. Sure, they were totally implausible, but I don't remember thinking "this is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard."
And yeah, the puzzles are solid. I just thought the puzzles in 3 were the worst group of the bunch, so while I still sort of like PL3 I didn't like it that much. Sort of just "decent" or "pretty good" to me.
