There's a huge difference between 'heated discussion' and 'you're a monster'. Huuuge. The former may have actual academic benefit and the latter is name-calling to an absurd degree (in that I don't even think Hitler should be described as a 'monster').
You clearly have never been in a college philosophy class
90% of it is listening to stupid 18 year olds' opinions and 10% is zoning out while the professor tries to teach something
I took a University Philosophy class and in my experience 100% of it was sitting at the back playing Solitaire on my laptop
