But yeah, Calgary does kind of suck. The night life does not even compare to Edmonton's. I actually thought the entire province sucked for the first 8 years I lived here (Lethbridge) and then I went to Edmonton for the first time. People usually only talk about Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver as the places to be in Canada, but I'd say Edmonton is right behind them.
I've never lived anywhere else major in Canada (well, I lived in Winnipeg and Ottawa when I was a baby) so I can't compare. I've either been in Edmonton, the Edmonton area, a small city north east of Edmonton, or Germany. And I'd like our "night life" a lot more if it didn't involve noises and sirens going while I'm trying to sleep. Being close to lots of emergency services and to one of the bigger bar/club areas in the city isn't a great combo at night.
