Yeah, I'd rather 20% approval then having people who don't listen to any debates, don't look up any of the candidates stances, and vote solely based off whether they are represented by Blue or Red.
This isn't a problem with a two-party system, nor with America; it's a problem with democracy in general. If you give the population as a whole a share of major political power, then you have to live with the consequences of bad judgment.
