Right. This is purely a battle of match libraries. Debating which one is more talented is another matter entirely (and a debate in which I think Eddie probably wins).
Shawn got more of an opportunity to showcase his skills in lengthier matches, started doing so years before Eddie debuted in AAA, and kept doing so years after Eddie died. That gives him a huge edge.
This is exactly what I was thinking while reading over your discussion, Eddie is better overall but Michaels had more opportunities overall to show off his talents, and the gap between the two of them is small enough that such an edge will pretty much guarantee the win for whoever has it.
