I'm not saying you CAN'T like it. I'm just saying that it is a very kiddie game, obviously intended for children. I know some people, especially those with Peter Pan syndrome, actually like the game. But can we admit that it's a children's game and is very kiddie? Look at the evidence:

1. Targeted toward children (especially evident from the anime)
Would you say the Super Mario Brothers Super Show is anything like the video game its based upon? Anime =/= games

2. Extremely easy and child friendly...no real challenge
Have you played any of the Pokemon games before? I wouldn't say it's overly hard, but catching legendaries can be downright frustrating sometimes. Also, trainers at the end of the game (Elite Four, etc) can be pretty challenging to beat.

3. Very simple battle system...no real effort put into it (kids won't notice that)
You could argue the same about first person shooters rated M. How difficult is it to point a crosshair at an enemy and fire? Not very. The same could be said about games like Dragon Quest. The battle system is your typical RPG turn based system. There are options on the menu. You pick one. It doesn't mean it's kiddy stuff or has no effort put into it. It just means not everything has to be complicated to be fun.

4. Only real appeal is a collection factor which always sucks kids in
Fans of RPGs also enjoy this game.

5. Cute little animals
So the Dragon Quest series is only for kids now too? How about Final Fantasy?

6. Childish dialogue
Again, have you played any of them? Sure, the main characters are always kids, but the enemies don't coddle them and give them toys. They want to take over the world and other crazy stuff. Sounds the same as most video game dialog honestly.

7. Children's lessons to be learned in the anime.
Repeating yourself here. See point #1 for details.
