I enjoyed it well enough, and I think it's much more playable than FE1-5, but it's still clearly weaker than most games in the series. Reclassing's a fun toy to play with, and there are some ideas I truly hope they implement in other, better Fire Emblem games (such as the ability to skip all enemy phase animation, "forging" as improving weapons rather than another form of buying them in a store, dead characters dropping their inventory into yours instead of it being randomly lost forever, etc.), but overall yeah, I'd recommend most other FE games first and would only recommend this one if you're a big fan of the series and are willing to put up with some more primitive gameplay (no shove, no rescue, evasion non-functional as a strategy) than average, and of course two-decades-old plot (although the actual text of the game script is well-translated!).
