You'll like it more and more the less you think about the fact that it's supposed to be Sherlock Holmes. If you are a diehard Holmes fan you'll be thinking "Wait no that...feels weird. Holmes wouldn't...this...no what the hell" a lot, but if you can get past that stage the movie itself is pretty good.
But if you want some good Sherlock Holmes action you are better off with the BBC series.
I think if he was a diehard Holmes fan he would have seen the previous movie by now..
