One more thing.
Sakurai wouldn't be discussing character choices this early. He's already said that his focus will be primarily about bringing a different experience to the table instead of just a game with better graphics, characters, and stages. These things seem to be in the back of his mind right now and probably wont get assessed until the plans for that special new experience is decided upon.
A concrete list of character ideas not accompanied by plans for anything else seems extremely sketchy.
