SoR1 is pretty meh, but I think SoR2 is still a good game. Good art direction, awesome music, decent variety of moves available, etc.
Streets of Rage Remake is the best though. Combines the best elements of the trilogy, but with much, MUCH more content(a dozen characters, a crapload of levels, multiple paths, plenty of bonus modes, shop mode for extras, optional AI partner, color/stage editor-creator, etc). It got taken down from the official website but its the Internet, its out there. Even have built-in gamepad support.
