I forget the exact charges brought against him, probably manslaughter, but one guy I knew was driving home drunk from a graduation party with some friends and crashed his truck into a tree. The two riding in the bed of the truck were decapitated.
Also if you want to count suicide as self-murder, I've known four people who have killed themselves, one being a very close friend.
