Yeah, from what hear about Karlsson (amazing offensively, awful defensively) he sounds like Mike Green 2.0
I don't know if the stats tell the whole story though. Fowler's +/- would indicate that he is far worse defensively than he is. He's more than adequate on the defensive side of things and getting better. He had some truly atrocious defensive partners last season like Lilja, Brookbank and Sutton.
+/- can be incredibly deceptive though. Someone can be on the ice and away from the play and not at all at fault when a goal is scored. Someone like Mike Green can repeatedly make absolutely awful turnovers and giveaways that directly lead to opposing goals scored. Both players receive a - just the same.
