Sorry, genius, but the guys in 7th or 8th in a division are not competing for a playoff spot anyway. Kind of ridiculous to whine about it. If having Columbus and Winnipeg or Phoenix and Calgary in your conference makes you miss the playoffs you don't deserve to be there anyway. Whether there are 7 teams in the conference or 8 teams, if the teams are good, you're going to need the same number of points to make the playoffs.
