I can safely say that almost everything you have heard about LSD is probably a lie. What propaganda has done to that drug's reputation really, really bothers me. As with any psychedelic, one has to be prepared, and in the right mindset before taking it (you have to be truly comfortable with your own thoughts and feelings) but taken under the right circumstances, it is easily the most beautiful thing that someone can experience in life. I've done it 4 times in my life, and each time was better than the last.
But I cannot stress enough how much the setting and comfort level of the user have on the experience. I know it's technically possible to have the worst time of your life on it, but under the conditions I create for myself, it has never been anything but overwhelmingly positive for the entire (10+ hours) duration.
